HOW FAR HAVE WE GONE IN CIVILIZATION?

Ancient Civilization
Since the early times, men have started to make different advances in their culture, technology and civilization.
Until then, these advancements were adopted, learned, spread and later improved for the betterment of humanity.

Roman Empire

Different civilizations rose and fell but still, their contributions remained in our hearts and in our minds.  From their inventions, discoveries and studies, to their cultures, beliefs and traditions and on how they govern their place.  They made so many ways to help improve the lives of us--- HUMAN BEINGS.  We have learned a lot through studying their history and we can really say that it helped change our way of living.

In my own perspective, all the advanced technologies that we have now is all because of the contributions in the different fields of the ancient people.  From time to time, our world is continuously evolving and so is our technology.  The early truly imparted a lot to us.

BEFORE
AFTER

I can really say that the world today is very different from our world before.  In the early times, there were only stones used as weapons, horses for transportation, skin from animals for clothing, fruits and animals for food, caves and tree houses for shelter and herbal plants for medicines.  But in our situation today, we now have different buildings, infrastructures and houses  built in cement for shelter, weapons made of metals, different designs and styles for clothing, airplanes, trains and cars for transportation, junk food, soft drinks, canned goods, candies, ice cream and other food with preservatives, different advanced gadgets for communication, and tablets, syrups, and capsules for our medicines.

We made ourselves civilized persons.  We have truly become a lot better than before.  Because of necessity, we have gone a lot in this civilization.  From a green world, we have made a grey and black one.

What we have now is way too different from what we have before.  But of course, we cannot achieve all of this without the help of the ancient civilizations.  Indeed, time travels so fast and so are the contributions of our civilizations.  Even though these civilizations already died, still, their contributions live at present.

THE FOUR WIVES

I REALLY THINK THIS STORY IS SO INSPIRING BECAUSE IT TOUCHED ME MOST..

There was a rich merchant who had 4 wives. He loved the 4th wife the most and adorned her with rich robes and treated her to delicacies. He took great care of her and gave her nothing but the best.

He also loved the 3rd wife very much. He's very proud of her and always wanted to show off her to his friends. However, the merchant is always in great fear that she might run away with some other men.

He too, loved his 2nd wife. She is a very considerate person, always patient and in fact is the merchant's confidante. Whenever the merchant faced some problems, he always turned to his 2nd wife and she would always help him out and tide him through difficult times.

Now, the merchant's 1st wife is a very loyal partner and has made great contributions in maintaining his wealth and business as well as taking care of the household. However, the merchant did not love the first wife and although she loved him deeply, he hardly took notice of her.

One day, the merchant fell ill. Before long, he knew that he was going to die soon. He thought of his luxurious life and told himself, "Now I have 4 wives with me. But when I die, I'll be alone. How lonely I'll be!"

Thus, he asked the 4th wife, "I loved you most, endowed you with the finest clothing and showered great care over you. Now that I'm dying, will you follow me and keep me company?" "No way!" replied the 4th wife and she walked away without another word.

The answer cut like a sharp knife right into the merchant's heart. The sad merchant then asked the 3rd wife, "I have loved you so much for all my life. Now that I'm dying, will you follow me and keep me company?" "No!" replied the 3rd wife. "Life is so good over here! I'm going to remarry when you die!" The merchant's heart sank and turned cold.

He then asked the 2nd wife, "I always turned to you for help and you've always helped me out. Now I need your help again. When I die, will you follow me and keep me company?" "I'm sorry, I can't help you out this time!" replied the 2nd wife. "At the very most, I can only send you to your grave." The answer came like a bolt of thunder and the merchant was devastated.

Then a voice called out : "I'll leave with you. I'll follow you no matter where you go." The merchant looked up and there was his first wife. She was so skinny, almost like she suffered from malnutrition. Greatly grieved, the merchant said, "I should have taken much better care of you while I could have !"

Actually, we all have 4 wives in our lives
a. The 4th wife is our body. No matter how much time and effort we lavish in making it look good, it'll leave us when we die.
b. Our 3rd wife ? Our possessions, status and wealth. When we die, they all go to others.
c. The 2nd wife is our family and friends. No matter how close they had been there for us when we're alive, the furthest they can stay by us is up to the grave.
d. The 1st wife is in fact our soul, often neglected in our pursuit of material, wealth and sensual pleasure.

I HOPE THIS STORY WOULD ALSO INSPIRE YOU... :D

How does the ancient civilization help humanity?

Egyptian Reflexology Treatment

Generations have been over and done.  Different civilizations have gone by.  Cultures and traditions have been passed from one place to another.

Today, in the context of our world, we can tell that it is really different from our ancestor's way of living. Buildings are seen everywhere.  New gadgets are invented and made.  New things are discovered from time to time.  All of these are not made possible if it weren't for the ancient civilizations.

Mayan Calendar
Ancient Egyptian Alphabet
Pyramids of Egypt

Just because of curiosity and also by necessity, people in the early times have discovered and invented a lot of things.  Inventions like the calendar, the alphabet, glass, linen, paper and ink and some architectural designs like the majestic pyramids of Egypt were added.  They also contributed in the fields of arts, medicine, agriculture, science, mathematics, religion, education and politics.  Through the aid of these, the people's work and way of living became easier.  Our knowledge also became wider because of the facts that they gave and discovered.

Lagundi
In my own perspective, all the remarkable accomplishments made today are due to our early ancestors.  Using all their ideas, we explore and discover more things.  Using all their inventions, we tend to build another one by means of improving the past creation.  An example is in the field of medicine.  Early men discovered some herbal plants to heal their diseases.  Now, we use these plants to make another medicine in the form of tablets, capsules, etc.  Men before made so many architectural designs with the use of geometry.  Now, we make our own through it.  They have imparted a lot to us.
Indian Culture

They made many theorems that helped us in studying mathematics.  They found solutions in order to satisfy our curiosity in the field of science.  They have spread their cultures and traditions to us.  They also passed laws to maintain the peace and order among each one of us.

Sumerian Wheel

Until now, we still use some of their contributions and inventions.  An example is the wheel, the axioms and postulates, their beliefs and their designs.  Through them, we have learned so much.  Our way of living improved not like before.  All we need to do is to make ways to find common mistakes, change it and improve so that it would be better next time.

It's all because of their creative and imaginative minds that we, people of the modern day get amaze of.  Without it, our world wouldn't be as it is today.  It wouldn't be a unique and wonderful place.

Rosetta Stone

They changed the lives of many people in a good way.  I can really say that our lives were improved.  Even though these civilizations experienced so many downfalls, been captured and were gone, still their contributions remained in our minds.  So many artifacts were seen.  Written records were uncovered.  Unique infrastructures were found still standing firm.

They have really influenced us in such a way that we, the modern men and benefiting from it.  Their works of art will always be treasured and remembered.

So let us not forget that the ancient civilizations played an important role in the development of this world.
